DESCRIPTION: The commonest erineum gall on Birch is usually seen as a yellowish bulge on the upperside of the leaf. Below is found the white to yellowish mite-induced erineum that is unevenly spread and with a granular texture. The erineum turns brown with age. DISTRIBUTION: The galled leaves are best found in June and July. HABITAT: Found on the leaves of various birches.
